Writing was my ambition back in high school and while engineering grabbed and held my interest I keep finding myself coming back to writing and communication as important sub-sets of my job.  The right words can make all the difference. 

I earned a B.A. in English from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, commonly known as Virginia Tech, under my maiden name of Elizabeth Oborn.  In addition, my B.S. in engineering had a technical writing program integrated into the curriculum in which we were judged by how well we communicated our results as well as what results we achieved.
